Asia Pacific Network for Sustainable Forest Management Scholarship

APFNet is an organisation based in China. The main function of the organization is to promote forest conservation and sustainable forest management. APFNet programs emphasize on human capital development, information sharing, dialogue and projects. 

APFNet scholarship is for a Master studies in Forestry and Forest Economics and Policy at the Beijing Forest University and Forestry / Forestry Engineering and Environmental Engineering at Nanjing Forestry University for two (2) years. Basic conditions required are as follows:
  1. Alreadt has a Bachelor
  2. Government officer related to forestry
  3. Priority is given to those who have work experience in foresty-related field

Further information on this scholarship is as attached. Closing date of application is on 30th April 2016.

Thus, interested agency/department should submit the scholarship nominations and application of appropriate projects to be submitted to the APFNet.

The general public is hereby informed that all trails (wayaan) to Mount Trusmadi are now open for climbing activities via the following:The Wayaan Kaingaran (Tambunan): a distance of 4.9 km from the starting point to the summit.
  1. The Wayaan Mastan (Keningau): a distance of 4.3 km from the starting point to the summit.
  2. The Wayaan Mannan (Sinua, Sook): a distance of 11.3 km from the starting point to the summit.

Bengkel Pembangunan Hala tuju Nasional Mengenai Perhutanan Sosial di Sabah

Majlis Perasmian Bengkel Pembangunan Hala tuju Nasional Mengenai Perhutanan Sosial di Sabah akan disempurnakan oleh YBhg. Datuk Sam Mannan, Pengarah Perhutanan Sabah. Bengkel ini akan bermula pada 5 - 7 April 2016 bertempat di Kabili Teater, Rainforest Discovery Centre (RDC), Sepilok, Sandakan. Pihak jabatan telah mendapat sokongan daripada NRE, FRIM, ASFN don SEARCA dan juga dengan kerjasama SASOF yang terdiri daripada NTFP-EP, LEAP, PACOS TRUST, JOAS dan Ridge to Reef dalam penganjuran bengkel ini.

Tujuan Bengkel ini adalah untuk merangka Definisi dan Pembangunan Hala tuju Perhutanan Sosial di Sabah (Social Forestry Roadmap for Sabah 2017 - 2026). Hasil dari Bengkel ini akan digabungkan dan diselaraskan bersama dengan hala tuju Perhutanan Sosial Sarawak dan Semenanjung Malaysia bagi membentuk satu Hala tuju Perhutanan Sosial di Malaysia. Projek ini dikendalikan oleh Kementerian Sumber Asli dan Alam Sekitar (NRE) dan dana penganjuran majlis oleh SEARCA, manakala FRIM selaku agensi pelaksana dan pengakaun.

Peserta Bengkel terdiri daripada jabatan/agensi kerajaan, ahli akademik, CSO/NGO, sektor swasta dan orang kampung dan dijangka seramai 60 orang peserta akan menghadiri Bengkel ini.
